VRU Demonstration School

VRU Demonstration School Under the Royal Patronage is located at Phahonyothin Rd, Khlong Nueng,

Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani 13180, Thailand. VRU Demonstration School consist of three different levels, there are Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School. Primary School has three different programs, there are Standard Program, Intensive English Program and English Program. While Secondary School has Standard Program, English Program and Gifted.


 

VRU Demonstration School's Vision


Develop students in morality, ethics, science, math, technology, and three language skills (Thai, English, Chinese) and emphasize student center learning, active learning activities, critical thinking activities, and lifelong learning.


 

VRU Demonstration School's Mission


  1. To produce and improve the student best qualities in mathematics, science, English, and Chinese.

  2. To develop in students Thai culture and Thai traditions awareness of the local community.

  3. To develop morality and ethics in students.

  4. To encourage and develop the students abilities in traditional Thai music, Thai dance, chorus, western music and sport.

  5. To be a research school for the students from the faculty of education of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University.​

  3. Students will be able to communicate in three languages (Thai, English, Chinese)

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM


VRU Demonstration School consists of Kindergarten and Primary Schools. To support the student's academic system, this school not only provides classes but also provides several facilities such as:

· AC room

· Shelves for each child

· Smart TV

· Auditorium

· School canteen

· Sports equipment

· Playground on the front yard of the school

· STEM laboratory

· Basketball court

· Lab. Music

· Teacher meeting room

· Etc.


The school also uses public facilities such as parks owned by VRU to fill school-owned activities such as scout activities.


 

TEACHING SYSTEM


Each teacher has their own teaching schedule. They have 4-6 periods per day. The learning method used by the teacher is different, the method used is adjusted to what type of subject students are learning. Usually the method used by the teacher is CLT method, in addition to the subject of the teacher's teacher also uses the question and answer method, experimental method and discussion method. Teaching and learning activities are carried out for 5 days in one week, Monday-Friday.


 

MATERIAL AND LEARNING SOURCES


In teaching and learning activities, this school provides several facilities and teaching materials. This school not only uses books as learning sources but also uses smart TV, projectors and educational media. For televisions and smart screens only in the IEP (Intensive English Program) and EP (English Program) classes. The use of media like this is very helpful for student learning. Teachers are also more helpful and have more opportunities to explore. In addition, this school provides several educational media such as Puzzles, Enjoyable Plates, Flash Cards, etc. used in Math Camp and English Camp. In addition, the teacher independently makes learning media using available materials such as paperboard, cans, color paper, etc.

MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION SYSTEM

The things that shouldn’t be missed in learning activities are measurement and evaluation. The teachers measure performance and evaluate student learning outcomes regularly and continuously. In measuring and evaluating students, the teacher uses a variety of assessment techniques such as conducting questions and answers, assessing worksheets, assessing student assignments, checking and assessing homework, and conducting written tests. In addition, teachers also have the responsibility to report student learning outcomes to parents of students regularly.



 

CURRICULUM

The curriculum used by this school is The Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008). The curriculum written in English Language, well-planned and organized from the Ministry of education Thailand. The goals of The Basic Education Core Curriculum is aimed at the full development of learners in all respects——morality, wisdom, happiness, and potentiality for further education and livelihood.


 

TEACHING PLAN

In writing lesson plans with science subjects for the English Program, teachers use English. For the format of the lesson plan preparation used by the teacher different from the lesson plan in Indonesia. The lesson plan used by the teacher is simpler and must contain 5 main activities including Warm Up, Presentation, Practice, Production and Wrap-up. In addition, in the lesson plan, what materials are needed and what type of evaluation will be used.



 

VRU DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL’S ACTIVITIES

VRU Demonstration School memiliki beberapa program dan aktivitas yang menarik dan educative. Program yang tersedia di sekolah ini antara lain, Math Camp, English Camp, Children’s Day, Scouts Camp, etc.

Math Camp

Math Camp is a program held by VRU Demonstration School every week, which is every Wednesday. This program aims to improve students' mathematical abilities by using interesting and educational media.

English Camp

English Camp is a program held by VRU Demonstration for several days. This program is attended by students from Junior High School and Elementary School. Teachers who teach at English Camp are from English and Foreigner teachers owned by the school. This program aims to improve English language skills of students by using interesting and educational media.


Children’s Day

Children 's Day is an activity organized by the school to commemorate children's day. This activity was held for one day and was attended by all students in the Kindergarten and Primary School. In this activity, the school invites parents to participate. The parents who came to set up free food stands that can be enjoyed by all students. The school also organizes several interesting and fun prizes.


Scout Camp

Scout Camp is usually followed by students in grade 1 to grade 3. Students must wear scout clothing and scout attributes in full, including hats, ties and other attributes. In this activity the teacher actively participates, they also wear scout clothes in full. Scout Camp has several fun and exciting activities.
